Jennifer Dornbush

Jennifer is a screenwriter, author, speaker, consultant, and forensic science specialist. She has been teaching and script consulting since 1997 and regularly leads seminars and workshops on screenwriting basics, writing for Hollywood, crime fiction, forensics, death investigation, and the creative life.
Jennifer has presented at: The Writers Store, Great American Pitchfest, Crime Writers Weekend, Sisters in Crime, Greenhouse, Act One, Scriptwriters Network, Romance Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, Story Expo, American Christian Fiction Writers, Highbridge Film Festival, and Universita Cattolica Milano, Italy; Write Canada, the Pacific Northwest Writers Group, and Raindance Film School London.
Wanting to share her love of forensics with other storytellers, she scribed non-fiction work, Forensic Speak: How To Write Realistic Crime Dramas, published by Michael Wiese Productions, hailed as a north star to creating authentic crime dramas and used by crime fighting and crime writing professionals alike.
As a forensic consultant, she is frequently asked to consult with TV writers on shows such as: Beauty & The Beast, Bull, Deception, and Hawaii Five-O.
Her mystery novel, The Coroner, was released in 2018, with the sequel releasing in 2020. Her feature film, God Bless the Broken Road had a wide release in theaters in 2018. She also penned the novel adaptation for Howard Books/Simon & Schuster (released 2017).
Her film and TV scripts have placed Jennifer on the short lists of the Fox/Blacklist TV Program, Final Draft Big Break, Nichols, Austin, American Zoetrope, and NBC’s Writers on the Verge. Her half-hour forensic comedy, Home Bodies, received a Humanitas’ New Voices Award. She developed a kid’s show with Baby First TV. Jennifer has worked in post-production for Sony, HBO, and Paramount.
